Malvan, the only marine sanctuary
is located in Malvan Taluka of Sindhudurg district in Konkan region
covering an area of 29.22-sq-km. The sanctuary is rich in coral and
marine life. The golden sands and casuarinas plantations at the Malvan
coast form a scenic view and it's a feast to eyes.
Best Time To Visit
The monsoons season witnesses
heavy rainfall but in summer and winter season the area has got a
moderate temperature making this place ideal to visit throughout the
year.

launches are available at reasonable cost from Malvan jetty.

The sanctuary has Akeri Rest
Houses of the Forest Department. The reservation authority is situated
at Dy. C. F., Sawantwadi. Government rest house is available at Malvan,
which is under Public works department, having reservation office at
Malvan. Private lodges and hotels at reasonable rates are also available
at Malvan.
